Laura is an English Teacher in a secondary school in South London, teaching students from KS3 up to A-level. Laura also prepares students to sit the 11+ entrance exams. She co-runs and is one of the founders of The Ellendel School of Speech and Drama. Laura has been involved in Speech and Drama festivals and completed all examinations with the Leinster School of Music and Drama since a young age; she graduated at the age of 17. She credits her career success thus far with the confidence and communication skills she gained as a result. Laura moved to the UK from Ireland in 2014, after graduating from Dublin City University with a Masters of Education Degree (HONS). Laura spent four years previous to that completing a BA degree in Education with English and Theology, graduating in 2013 with an honours from the same university. In 2013, Laura also graduated with a Higher Diploma in Education. Laura has also completed the TESOL qualification.
She believes strongly in the power of drama in offering an inclusive environment for children to build their confidence. Laura combines her teaching of Speech and Drama with her love of the written word; her degree in English influences her pedagogy at Ellendel.
In 2016, Laura joined the LAMDA directory of tutors and started preparing students for Grade examinations in communication.
Laura is a Primary Teacher and the Head of Drama in an Independent school in South West London. Laura has a long history with Speech and Drama, having been involved herself in Speech and Drama festivals and examinations since a young age. At the age of 18, Laura qualified as a Speech and Drama teacher from The Leinster School of Music and Drama.
Laura graduated with an honours degree in International Commerce and Spanish from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She went on to complete her PGCE in Primary Education and spent three years working as a teacher in the UAE before moving to the UK in 2014. Laura specialises in phonics and brings her expertise in this area to her teaching of the younger age groups at Ellendel.
Laura is passionate and enthusiastic about providing children with opportunities to excel and grow in confidence and creativity in this competitive world, where excellent communication and social skills are vital to succeed.
